From The Inventors Hall of Fame
HOST IRA FLATOW (veteran National Public Radio science correspondent and TV journalist, host of Talk of The Nation: Science Friday®):
Good evening, Ladies and Gentlemen. Necessity may be the mother of invention. But curiosity is her soul mate. Tonight we’re here to celebrate what happens when the two of them work together.
After all, where in the world would we be without our inquiring minds. You could say “in a cave.” But the cavemen were pretty inventive folks. In fact, inventing is as much a part of the human condition as breathing. As long as we draw breath, we will continue to seek smarter solutions, from Ben’s kite to Tom’s light. Because the battle cry of every inventor is “There’s got to be a better way.” |
